Get In Your Questions For Dr. Greg Charvat, for this week's Amp Hour Podcast

Hi everyone, I will be interviewed on the Amp Hour podcast this Sunday, which is a podcast by Dave Jones of EEVblog and Chris Gammell:
Get In Your Questions For Dr. Greg Charvat | The Amp Hour Electronics Podcast

If you get a minute, I encourage you to submit questions that we will answer on the podcast:

Get in your questions for MIT professor and microwave researcher, Dr Gregory Charvat! : TheAmpHour

I'm really looking forward to meeting Chris and Dave, should be a fun time this Sunday!

Developing a phased array system? Present it here: 2013 IEEE International Symposium on Phased Array Sys. & Tech

During recent decades, phased array systems have made major steps forward with the development of many major radar and communications systems. due to many recent advances, including MMIC, photonics, and digital beamforming, phased array systems and technology continue to progress rapidly. Current and future developments of ground-based, sea-based, airborne, and space-based phased array radar, communications, and other electronic systems will be discussed at this international symposium.

Phased Array 2013, the 5th IEEE international symposium presenting advanced in phased array systems and technologies, will be held at the Westin Hotel, Waltham, Massachusetts on Boston’s famous Route 128.

Sign up now for Fall '12 Continuing Education Short-Courses! IEEE Boston Chapter

Sign up now for Fall '12 IEEE Boston Continuing Education short-courses!

Topics include RF and Microwave fundamentals, DSP fore wireless communications, Phased Array and Adaptive Arrays, Practical RF PCB design, Practical PLL design, and many others.

If only i had more time in my career i would sign up for all of the above.  Tuition is very inexpensive and all courses are led by amazing instructors.

vintage pre-war Bulova men's wrist watch restoration

This watch runs strong.  The only trouble i had was in mounting the minute hand.  I believe that this was serviced in the past and someone mounted the wrong diameter hand to it, so i had to bend the minute hand's mounting hole slightly so that it would grip.

Otherwise, a great little watch!

This week: CMU Next Generation Medical Imaging Workshop

A few openings are still available to join us at the CMU Next Generation Medical Imaging Workshop:
https://www.bio.cmu.edu/NGMIW/

Next Generation Medical Imaging Workshop: Innovations Enabled by Advances in Computing, Signal Processing, and Sensor Technology
To present and discuss the latest medical imaging developments that are facilitated by the newest game-changing technologies and suggest future approaches and collaborations.
Next generation life-saving medical imaging technologies will leverage the vast computational power afforded by alternative computing platforms—such as graphics processor units (GPUs) and field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs)—enabling us to explore previously intractable imaging problems.  New signal processing techniques, such as compressed sensing and sparse reconstruction algorithms, can produce high-fidelity and real-time imagery using relatively few measurements. Advances in sensing devices, architecture, and sensor configurations will offer sophisticated measurement techniques and provide the foundations for new imaging modalities.
In this workshop, participants will discuss how these technologies could be used to develop new imaging approaches and techniques as well as improve current methodologies. A speaker should be asked to bring his/her questions to spur discussion which might lead to solutions, new approaches, or different applications.

Art Deco pre-war Bulova

This is a really neat vintage watch, it is an art deco style Bulova.  It was difficult to clean this one, i found that the cap jewels were really dirty so i had to clean those independently.

A very interesting watch style and always a good conversation piece at a party.
