It's amazing, you can still find new WW2 surplus right out of the box! Just bought this on ebay for very little cost. It is a UHF Radio Altimeter, basically an FMCW radar that provides an altitude above ground read-out to pilot and automatic pilot system. Date codes on this device place its manufacture sometime in 1944.
Did i mention it's brand new? Not a spec of dust inside or out. It even smells new. Good grief! Basically, they made so much back in the day that we can still find this stuff. Very exciting. Would like to see this radar device up and running again some day soon.
